The Opportunity

The Business Analyst is a pivotal role in modernizing Ally's key IT systems.The Document Management Team expands foundational capabilities in generating and storing external and internal documents.If you enjoy networking with other Ally lines of business, have a business background and an interest in technical development, this is the role for you!The Business Analyst consults and collaborates with the broader Document Management team (Business and IT), Operations' Product Owners and others to deliver quality communications. You will have the opportunity to drive partnerships delivering on tasks and initiatives with alignment to a broader vision.The most suitable Business Analyst will possess a blend of skills: detail oriented with experience participating in cross-functional initiatives, accountable to facilitate sessions with multiple stakeholders to break down use cases into detailed features for development by delivery teams that culminate in drafting test summary reports for Business Product Owner review and approval.If you possess impeccable organizational, time management, and communication skills you should consider this role.

The Work Itself

During the day to day, the Business Analyst will be responsible for collecting and refining user stories into detailed requirements, collaborate with IT developers, develop and execute testing strategies that pinpoint defective deliverables or areas of business risk and identifies steps to mitigate them.The details:

•Align deliverables and outputs in accordance with Document Management Governance Framework

•Apply organizational, legal and compliance requirements that follow change governance protocol

•Analyze and break down requirements / use cases into accurate epics, stories, spikes, subtasks with consideration to mitigate operational risk and recommend controls

•Identify, drive, and implement continuous improvement of our overall testing approach, tools and processes

•Gain knowledge and understanding of Ally Applications' landscape to support planning and oversight for testing with integrated applications and/or suppliers

•Participate in agile ceremonies to contribute to successful story refinement, pointing, sprint planning

•Document comprehensive test strategy to include identification of testing scope and coverage, required conditions, quality of testing and knowledge transfer/support to Quality Assurance Testers.

•Support functional testing as assigned and identify any form of defects on given testing, participate in defect remediation and re-testing to 'passed' status.Escalate appropriately when testing is stalled

•Prepare test results summary and review with Operations/ letter owner for review and approval.

•Execute production validation testing and ensure JIRA updated with evidence as requested

•Participate in all deployment, deployment readiness and sustain activities as requested

The Skills You Bring

•High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in related field strongly preferred.
•5+ years in customer service or financial services industry is preferred.
•Experience working on project teams preferred working in an Agile/Scrum environment is an advantage

•Accomplished at facilitating sessions with cross-functional groups and or leading a team

•Comfortable respectfully challenging status quo and driving change

•Ability to effectively work with employee and external partner resources, both on-shore and off-shore

•Understanding of analytical skills and technical acumen is preferred: baseline knowledge of how software systems and application components work together, effective at communicating software development considerations

•Experience in developing testing strategies, writing and executing test cases

•Comfortable identifying risks associated to schedule or quality

•Skilled with Microsoft products, in particular MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

•Familiarity with the following tools desired: SharePoint, JIRA, qTest

•Able to prioritize efforts based on program objectives, skilled at effectively estimating work, and proven commitment to deliver on deadlines
